Dear Ladies Night,

I assume because of the busy holidays you haven't been around much.
Please return as soon as possible.
I miss you.

With much sincerity,

Little Girl Barretts

I wanted to ask Carmen if she wouldn't mind teaching me, or telling me, how to make those cute, curly ribbon barretts that her little girls always wear. I have the ribbon and that I want to use, but I'm not sure how long to cook the ribbon in the oven to make it curly, or even what temperature to cook it on. So Carmen, dear, if you wouldn't mind telling me that much information I would much appreciate it.

Thanks!

Crocheted Edge Baby Blankets-HELP!

So most of you know that Tanner and his blanket are inseparable.  We lost one of them last week and I'm been wondering what I'm going to do, since he now only has one.  At Walmart today I found the exact material, (a miracle since I've been searching for it forever) and bought enough for 2 new ones. I'm totally excited to make his new blankets but I need some help.  I want to crochet the edges of the blanket, but I don't know how and I know that the blanket needs little holes punched around it before I can crochet it.  Do any of you know where I can go to get that done, and can any of you teach me how to crochet?  I am totally clueless when it comes to any type of sewing.  Tanner would thank you immensely!!!

Play Dough!

I have tried quite a few different recipes and this is the one I like the best. Hudson plays with it at least three times a week and it still feels brand new after two months!! And I figured since it is indoor weather, I would share to hopefully ease the winter blues! :)

You'll need:
3 cups flour
1 1/2 cups salt
3 cups water
2 Tbsp oil (I used EVOO- probably only 1 1/2 Tbsp)
1 Tbsp cream of tartar
food coloring or unsweetened "Kool-Aid" pkg.

Mix ALL of the ingredients in a large saucepan. Cook over medium low heat, until the dough comes away from the edges of the pan and it becomes difficult to move the spoon. Remove from heat. Cool until it can be handled. Place on counter or wax paper and knead 3-4 times.
Store in an air tight container.

It makes enough that you could easily divide it and make different colors, if you like. And this recipe is completely safe - in case you have naughty ones! Finley ate a little one time (that girl will eat anything!!!) and I didn't have to worry that it would hurt her like some of the store play doughs. It is really simple to make, and could just be a lifesaver on some of these LONG days in the house! ENJOY! :)

(If you're interested, I also have recipes for oatmeal play dough and peanut butter play dough -wasn't quite daring enough to try that one- along with a few more!)

Change of Plans

We are meeting at Mimi's Cafe in SANDY on Saturday (11:00 am). I tried to reserve the Murray location, but it was booked with too many Christmas parties. I figured this location would work just as well. We can even carpool so we all don't have to drive as far!
(I don't know the exact address, but it's on State Street by South Towne mall and Chilis)

Little Girl Hairstyles

I found a blog with pics of little girl hairstyles that's awesome! Check it out: http://shedoeshair.blogspot.com/. Now I just need to convince my girls to sit still long enough for me to try some of these out. (Cambria will complain and even cry when I just BRUSH her hair, let alone do something to it- SIGH.)
