Cornbelly's

I have been asked about our Cornbelly's outing by a couple ladies and here is the scoop...
I haven't planned anything yet because it doesn't open until October but if you are interested in going, buy your tickets NOW! They are on sale ($3.00 cheaper than the original price) if you purchase them before Friday. Last year we bought them as a group and saved about $2.50 per person which was still a great deal, but since it was a group discount, they required us to have a minimum of 15 people (which was kind of hard to put together with everyone's busy schedules).
Anyway, if you are thinking of going this fall, hop online and buy your tickets. I would love to still go as a group, so if you are interested, let me know and I will arrange something. We can all set aside a night-out and meet down there if you want. But this way, we can still get a discount without worrying about getting a certain number of people in our group!
p.s. It's $2.00 cheaper to go during the week (Monday-Thursday) than to go on the weekends. But if you have a husband who may or may not work late (like mine) than the weekend price is still great!

Bad news

Sorry to use this blog for bad news, but thought it was the easiest way to reach many of you.

Katelyn has had strep throat and has exposed many of your children.

Two weeks ago her tonsils were swollen, but no fever so the nurse that I called said she was fine and to not bring her in. Five days later we took her in. The Dr. said she was fine and only had pink eye. The next day she had a fever and we took her back in and that time they diagnosed her with strep. So, we treated her for strep for ten days. Saturday was day ten.

Monday morning her tonsils are sounding swollen again. Charley takes her to the Dr. Dr. says she is fine, just watch her. Two hours later she spikes a fever. Take her back to the Dr. Now they say she has strep again.

So, I believe at nursery yesterday and on the playground today she was probably contagious.

I am so sick of the stinkin' doctor and all the co-pays and gas money it cost for double trips when he failed to diagnose her strep throat.

I am very sorry. I had no clue, especially when the Dr. was telling me she was fine.

Just wanted to let you know so that you would know what to watch for.

In addition, I have been super sick, although my strep test came back negative. I don't believe I was around any of you or your kiddos too much in the last few days, so hopefully I have not exposed you to whatever in the world it is that I have! We will be quarantined for a few days!!

Nursery Sit-In

Is there anyone who would be willing to sit in for Joel and I in the nursery this Sunday?
I have got the nastiest cold that will not go away and hate to call individual people because I don't want anyone to feel obligated to say yes. So this way you are offering...I'm not putting a guilt trip on anyone....unless I have too ;)

FYI... don't be mad

Hey ladies! I realize this isn't a confession blog, but I just wanted you to be aware.......................................................................................................... ha... is the suspense killin ya yet! Don't worry, it's nothin that big. :) I wanted to let you know that Lydia has strep. There. I said it. :) To the few she was around- way sorry. Ben has been fine though, so I think everybody will be okay. Through this all, I investigated myself and discovered what she had before we went to the doctor. I pretty much felt super smart. Apparently babies don't get strep. 2-10 yr olds get it, but it's called "scarlet fever". The most noticable symptom is their skin (starting on the stomach and back and spreading everywhere after) looks like sand paper- or baby acne. They might say their throat hurts and if you look back into it, their glands will be swollen. Go ahead- go check your kiddos backs. It's nothing too serious, but I would feel bad if it was passed on and you weren't aware that it was a possibility and what the symptoms are. I really do feel bad, but what do ya do...

On a happier note- you all are so great, I mean that. I have been a hermit for awhile now, sometimes even scared to answer my phone. I know, I'm a psycho, but I appreciate you all and hope to get back to my "normal" weird self soon!

Yard Sale

Ladies,

I am really wanting to do a yard sale. I don't think it would be awesome all by myself. I was wondering if any of you wanted to join in. We could do it in a couple of weeks and call it an end of summer yard sale. I can advertise and put posters up.

If no one wants to do it, I can just take all my stuff to D.I. Was just hoping to earn some money off of my 'treasures.' :)

Let me know.
